Maybe this is a bit too 2005 (or maybe not), but I’m still thinking about coffee shops and WiFi.
I understand why folks want to set up camp in coffee shops to work on their laptops, and the sterility of the alternatives. (So sterile they’ve closed, apparently!)
Maybe it’s just me, but I wouldn’t mind if a coffee shop reserved a handful of tables that people could pay money to “rent” for a couple of hours, with power jacks and WiFi, and making the rest of the cafe less laptop-friendly by keeping power outlets unavailable, as well as having tables that are somewhat less laptop-friendly due to uneven surfaces or interesting textures.
That might make the cafe more fun to be in, even without a laptop.
